A national,token strike is boing callod for by the district committce of the Amalgamated Engeerinf Union in Paisloy. This move is in protest against the rejection of the enginvers'pay claim, They are to ask their executive to press for the striko at tho Confederation of Shipbuilding and linginooring Unions. Both the Paisloy men and llanchostor A.3.U. shop stewards are pressing for tho recall of the union's national committoo.

The Manchoster stewards havo decided to support any action decided upon to win their full highor pay and shorter hours domand. At a mocting Thursday 14th they discussed a plan to mobiliso workers from the big North-Jest industrial bolt.

Scotland's 58,000 minors aro to a one-day strike, probably on Fobruary end, against tho pit closures and in support of their pay claim. The decision was mado by a special dclegato conference of the Scottish aroa of the National Union of Mineworkers.

This will be the first all-Scottish coalfield strike since nationalisation, it will bo timod for the day tho miners! and railwaymon's lobby of Parlia=ment takes placo against closures. It is oxpocted that at loast 400 Scottish miners will teako part.in the lobby.
