Uncorrected machine reading. This text was read by machine (Tesseract OCR) from a scan of a stencilled typescript and has not been corrected. Expect misread words; titles in particular are often garbled where the issue printed no contents list. Quote from the scan, not from this page.
How this article was cut and titled: capitals heading; heuristic; title from the OCR of the heading.

Wo aro told that their is strong public feocling in support of the Government's moves to impose rostrictions on immigration, most people including those on the loft have tekon for granted that by and largo there aro moro for the Bill than against. It appears that this may bo o wrong picture. The sunday Tolograph, run by Roy Thompson theo IMoral lRearmment millionaire, published the result of a Gallup poll which had beon taken just after the second reading of the Bill. 33% of those questioned said thot they would switch their votos away from the Tories bocause they disliked the Immigration Bill, whereas only 1% said they intenied to switch their voto away from Labour because it opposed the Bill. What-= ever olso this might prove it indicates that public foeling is not strongly in favour of the Bill.
