Young Socialists in Nottingham have launched an ‘tisk the Pvoplo" Questionnaire and all the branches in Nottingham are oxpected to support it in addition to the Young Co-oporators. The quostionnaire sots out to gauge public fooling and intorost in local govornmont affairs. Having established this and in the procoss having gathored valuablo data it will bo possible to draw up a programme basod upon what pooplo think rathcr than what we think they should think. Also it will be an opportunity to bring homo to people the importance played by local government in their lifo and how they can influcnco it. It is hoped that a good campaign will have somo offect in rovitalising tho Labour Party at ward level, Thore is no doubt that any increased interest in local affairs is bound to vesr to the left. Once the mass of the people have brought home to them how much thoy aro putting into the monoylondors pockets and how this wholo policy orig: inates from tho Tory Government thoy can go no othor way.
A number of organisations havo already oxpressced support for the campaign including the Co-op Party and Market ward. During tho Christmas holidays some teachers are to have a trial run with the quostionnaire and on the basis of the lossons learned a briefing mocting will bo held.
