Stan Newens need not be in any doubt that I still think that outright advocacy of the Common Market is based on the premise of helping capitalism solve its problems and then hoping that the working-class will be allowed to share any of the extra profits they make from this monopolization. As opposed to then, I would put the proposition, that if the employers want to join the Common Market, let Labour M.P.s put forward a programme to safeguard interests of the working-class and recompense them for the inevitable cut in their standard of living.
