The Naval correspondent of the Sunday Telegraph wrote in the June 4th issues The Israeli cargo ship Miryam, 2,038 tons, loaded a cargo of arms and ammunition for Israel at Felixstowe yesterday. Supplies have been going on board continuously for 24 hours, and yesterday two three-ton Army lorries and four large civilian vehicles were brought in. I watched a lorryload of 105 m.m. armour-piercing tank gun ammunition being taken to the docks in conditions of special security. Also, a number of tracked armoured personnel carriers were visible as deck cargo. The reason why the Miryam docked at Felixstowe was that the Israeli Government could not wait for the loading of the arms to be completed in the normal way. This is by means of lighters in the Thames Estuary.
