Despite the Govornmont's difficulty in balancing its budget and despite statements by Dr. Mrhard that public domand on tho capital market is too great, income tax cuts to save taxpayers in the small and medium income brackets some DM 2,500m. (about £220m.) a yoar are to bo made. These will take effect in 1965 which is election year.
