A working paper drawn up for discussion at NALSO's annual confer= ence (to be held in Leicester April 5-10) has this to say about the relationship between Labour Party officialdom and the Young Socialists: "The Labour Party has never had much success with its youth movements..ee.the official youth paper has usually languished while unofficial papers thrived.see..” at present "A state of civil war exists between a large section of the Young socialists and the officials of the Labour Party...",The paper ends with a call for the cessation of tedious formalities of trying to stop political discussion at area and regional level, and suggest that a different constitutional set-up is necded,.
