‘ T Ollowing letter appeared in this weok's Tribune signed by ths Secretary ond delegate to Confersnce of the Croydon Contral Labour Party:

The Croydon Central Labour Party sent as its resohition to the Conference, a call for nationalisation of the basic industries. This arose from last winter's unemployment, and the prosent high figure, which, in our opinion, shows the deep nature of the crisis facing the present system, and the need for Labour to control and plan industry by taking over major sect— ions of industry. Under the 3-year rule, the Standing Ordors Committee has ruled out of order our resolution together with those of all other organisations who have raised the question of naticnalisation,

In a year when union after union and even the TUC has called for more control and nationalisation, wo mast not allow the Labour Party Conforence to debate unemploymont and a planned economy without dealing with nationalisation, The Croydon Party will raise the matter with the Standing Orders Committee, and if necessary, wo shall purge the matter to Conference to fight for the resolutions dealing with Nationalisation to be put beck on the agenda. Croydon Central L.P. aslg all organisations which have had resolutions on this subject ruled out of order to contact our delegate at Westwood County Modern School, Valley Bridgo, Scarborough, at 3.p.m. on apnea nnn SS |
