A statement by the National Secretariat of the Communist Party of New Zealand was published in the Jamary 23rd issue of the weekly Peoples Voice organ of the party, under the headline, Fighting Monopoly in New Zealand and Throughout the World, The statement emphasised that in regard to ideological issues:" Wo stand firm on the fact that thay cannot L° solved by disozssion and demonstrations at congresses of individual parties, as haa happoned recently, They will not be solved by an attitude of "We, and only we, are right all the time on srerythineg".
It said: " Such an attitude, plus refusal to develop collective discussion intermationally, makes appeals for unity useless and dismisses the honest opinions of other partics and their leaderships without consid= eration. J+ oxcluded collectiM discussion of all aspects in an objective Manner, We stand firm on the approach egreed by all Marxist-Leninist Partios in the Statement of the 8] Parties after their conference in Moscow in 1960, There a method was agreed upon if disputes arose between the lead— ership of various parties, it was a total cifferent procedure from that

The statement continued: "Today, wo are more fully convinood than ever that our call of February, 1962, for the holding of an international discussion on problems and diffsarences was a correct one, Also that we wore corrset to emphasise, in line with the 81 Parties’ statement, the meed for preliminary discussion between those. with differoncese This has not been done, but it should be started without delay." The article goes on: " Our party teeessssCONnsiders correct the statement made with emphasis there that revisionism is today the main danger in our world Marzist-—Leninist Movement, We are concerned that, while all possible dangers .seoe6 arising from dogmatian are receiving full attention, the main danger of revisionian is; except in a few sweet words, to a large degree being ignored.
