In April 1958, in the mining centre of Huanum a jeep was detained, in which was travelling the general secretary of the Miners’ Trade Union of Catavi, Florentino Calnstro, leader of the POR (Bolivian section of the Fourth International), and other miners’ leaders.
The men of the military command of the bourgeois nationalist movement in power, the MNR, of Huanuni,' led by Celestina Gutiérrez, Right wing leader of the MNR and (bureaucrutically imposed) gerieral secretary of the Huanuni trade union movement, arrested Calustro and brought him te the headquarters of the military command,
‘There Gutiérrez said to Calustro: ‘‘ Prepare yourself, we are going to hang you."
