based on Financial Times report Fifteen familiesand two investment companies control more than 200 industrial concerns in Sweden with a total of over 450 000 employees, it is stated in a report made by a Government appointed commission investigating the ownership of industry. It also stated that tne main commercial banks dominate some 260 companies whose cutput represents # of the country's total production. There is a high degree of monopoly in the capital goods industry, the report adds, and there are cartels in cement, concrete, wallboard and special steel sectors. The report also compains about the vertical integration of industry which is being taken to mean such sectors as the forest product industry where cempanies own the land, timber, plant and mills.
