The Cardiff Trades Council convened a special public meeting on Thursday, 7th March, at Transport House, Cardiff. Unemployment in Cardiff is 4 595 compared with a total of 2 0CO in January 1966. Mr. Tyrrell, secretary of the traaues council said that the trades council was ‘anxious to hear the views of the rank and file on unemployment and what they think shou'd be done to halt it. Speakers include: Tal Lloyd, ABU district secretary and Dave Francis, NUM general secretary in South Wales. Further redundancy threatens the localcoal and steel industries.
