A certain Regional Labour Party organiser shocked a meeting of the executive of a West London C,L.P. by waving a copy of The Week, claiming that the paper had, by organising factions inside Labour Parties, lost the G.L.C. elections for Labour. The constituency, which had prior to the last elections been considered a safe Labour seat, did not take this statement too dramatically: it went on to reject a call from a right-wing branch to expel people who had supported one plank of The Week's programme, support for the Vietnam Solidarity Campaign.
