On the eve of the OLAS Conference, Cuba*s Vice-Premier Raul Castro has reiterated Cuba's right to work for the revolutionary struggle throughout Latin America, He also commented sharply upon U.S. Vice~—President Humphrey's recent speech to military school graduates, alleging that the Soviet Premier had used the occasion of last month's visit to Cuba for the purpose of pressurising the leadership into softening its revolutionary line in the Latin-American continent. Senor Castro made it clear that relations between Cuba and the Soviet Union "exist only on the basis of the strictest mutual respect and absolute independence", "We do not have a daddy, Mister Imperialists, I do not know who has informed Mr, Humphrey nor what they informed him, but it is evident that he is suffering from infantile illusions,"

Of the revolutionary situation now prevalent throughout the continent he said that the sole cause of uprising was the misery, malnutrition, exploitation and poverty which had been imposed upon the area by American imperialism,
