The conference is open to individuals and delegates from all sections of the tabour movement. Since the first conference of this series (held Nottingham in 1964), the movement for industrial democracy and workers’ control has gathered great strength and influence. This will be refiected the fact that this year the conference will be able to examine important concessions gained—e.g., in the Steel Nationalisation Bill, in Labour Party udy group reports on docks nationatisation, and on industrial democracy in gencral, T.U.C. evidence to the Royal Commission, etc. The purpose the conference is to enable trade unionists and their allies to meet together to thrash out a programme for the defence and advance of trade lion powers and controls in industry. The growing support for such demands will we believe also be réflected in the attendance at Gonference. The Chairman of the conference will be BILL JONES—London busmen’s leader and vice-president of the Transport & General Workers’ nion.
