from I.U.S.Y. Survey Dr. Hastings Banda announced in Parliament that he had instructed the committee drafting the Constitution to make provisions for five Europe Members of Parliament. The new Constitution will be proclaimed in July. Only nine Europeans are registered as Malawi citizens and eligible to sit. Dr.Banda, however, maintained that the present three Buropearn members had done "some valuable work", Moreover, better ‘uropean representation was motivated by the increasing foreign investment in Malawi.
