MORE AND LONGER STRIKES IN 1964 from Pat Jordan

The August issue of Ministry of Labour Gazette gives figures for industrial stoppages for the first seven months of this year. As is usual it compares these with the same period last year. The picture which emerges is one of more stoppages (1,465 against 1,156 - an increase of 26.9%) and many, many more days lost (1,646,000 against 758,000 = an increase of over 117%).
