The National Farmers! Union has sent a statement to all M.P.s taking "strong exception" to the manner in which the Protection from Eviction Bill prevent them from taking immediate possession of 'tied cottages.' They glaim that the provision that a farmer must get a County Court Order, which may be suspended for 12 months, “arbitrarily singles out agriculture as the only industry or business in respect of which this restriction on the right of re-possession of service houses is to apply." Trade unionists who have for years been fighting the iniquitous 'tied-cottage' system will no doubt express another opinion,
