based on Financial Times report

The Financial Times of October 27th carried the following: "Confirmation that the Labour Government intends to fulfil its programme and stay in office came at a private meeting of the Parliamentary Labour Party last night. In a challenging speech to Labour MPs, the Prime Minister said the Government would time all measures with military precision and choose the time it wanted to %o to the country. "We are the Government in this country and we intend to stay the Government," he said. "It will be an exciting adventure for all of us." Mr Wilson was given a long standing ovation from the 300 MPs present."
