Despite Prench opposition {see provious issues of the Week), the Algsrian Government is ta build 2 new pipeline between Eassi Messaoud end Irsew. This was amnounced by the ligerien Minister of Wational Weonomy, Bachir Boumaga, at a press conference on Jan. 24th. Vork on the 500-mile new pipeline, which will cost some £22 millions, will start in the near feature. Kuwait will provide a loon for constir— uction, the Minister added. The nsw pipeline will be the third one linking the oil-rich Sahara with the Mediterranean, Originslly to have been tuilt by a consortimm of companies (mainly American) ths pipeline Will provide valunble reveme for develoment of Jigerian industry.
