Poasants of the Comunidad de Ongoy, a town of 12,000 inhabit nts, who tock over ancestral lands occupied by landlords, were attacked on October 24th by ormod bands operating under police protection. According to information just received by a Paris correspondent, 30 men,women and children wore killed by the armod bands which were in the pay of landlords, Lima newspapers accu= sed "Trotekyists" of being in the loadorship of the poasant movement. Two of the leaders, Maximo Molina, head of tho Comunidad, and intonio Cartolin, , presitont of the Peasant Federation of Ayacucho were taken to Arequipa for a military trinl, Doring a debate in parliament on the attack, supporters of the peasants and tho imprisoned leaders demonstrated in the galleries, A mass noeting in Lima demanded the release of the prisonors and punishment of tho bands that attacked the possants. =
