Dr. Jusn Marinello, elder statesman of Cuban comminiam, was dismissed as rector of the University of Havana on November 1 th. He is a former cha irman of the Popular Socialist Party (the Cuban C.P.) and became rector of the university in Jamary, 1962. He was replaced by Dr, Juan Mier, the deputy Minister of Educatione Dr. Mior and Dr. Armando Hart, the Minister of Education, former members of the July 26th Movement which is now fused into the P.S.R. are known to favour an independent line in relation to Moscow,
