“the Federation of Yorkers in the Banana Industry of Latin Amorica and tho Caribbean has strongly condemned the United Fruit Co. for introducing a sub-contracting system besod on land transforence. The U.F.C. ia a huge con cern controlling the biggest share in fruit production end trade in Letin America. In an open letter to the Company's president the Federation main-— tains that the Asgoointed Producers defoats the purpose of the Alliance for Progress programme.
