By 369 to 58 it was also agreed that, in the event of the ono-day strike failing to achieve the proposed salary structure, a series of solective department strikes should be held.
Tho decisions will now go before the loenl executive, and in turn they will refer them to the Scottish district council and the national executive council of the association. The approval of these bodies must be obtained before the Glasgow NALGO members could strike officially.
Mr. Noil McLean, president of the Glasgow branch, said after tho meeting: "There could be a strike before Christmas." The emergency committees of the national executive council who dealt with such matters would have to consider the issuo before then, he aided.
