An “Aid to Algeria" Committee has been established in London, under the Chairmanship of John Baird M.P. The committee has a substantial list. of sponsors including more than a dozen MP's, and a number of prominent figures in the academic and Trade Union fields. Wore sponsors are to be approached. The Committee has so far concerned itself with guaranteeing the maximum Eritish representation at the forthcoming Conference for Technical Aid to Algeria to be held in Algiers during the last wook of May. Algeria Committees throughout Burope, in France, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Itely, West Germany, Sweden and Denmark are all co-operating to make , this conference a success and tho maximum publicity is being organised for its objectives.

The British Committee is to make a drive for money to finance the British delegation, and Trade Union Branches, CLP's and many individuals ara being approached for assistance, Bulletin readera who wish to assist this committee may send their donations, and those of friends to the Treasurer, Aid to Algeria Committee, W. Griffiths, MP, at the House of Commons, London 5.1%, 1. Reoent events in Algeria, full of promise for the Socialist Revolution demand the widest possible support from British socialists in the working-class organisations. The Aid to Algeria Committee has more than a humanitarian impact, insofar as tochnicians ara being encouraged to go to Algeria and assist the farmers collentives and the re-ostablishment of industry on a socialist basis, the assistance rendered will have political implications.
