On Tuesday October 23rd., after Kennedy's speech on Monday, the ixecutive of ~~ the Sheffield Trades and Labour Council met. i.e So PR HP Our Party and Trades - Council combined, representing 100,000 organised - ' oi left-wing delegate moved an emergsney resolution whioh. after full discussion was passed unanimously. It condemned the American Blockade of Cuba and also thé British Governments agreement with it. It went on to refer to this as " Unconsulted unilateral action by the American Government which could only deepen existin; world tension and lead to ultimate thsrmo—nuclear war! It called on' the Nic of the Labour Party and the Parliamentary Labour Party to condemn the US Government and exert pressuxe on the British Government to do the same. This was sent to the press as well as to the relevant bodies, . i
