At tho February 20th %.C. mecting of tho Mersoyside M.C.F. a motion was passed aftor vigouous discussion condomning the action of Dr. Jagan in calling upon British troops to deal with the recent disturbances in Guiana;
Dospite the sense of apathy in relation to the Immigration Bill in Livorpool, a demonstration took place on Saturday, February 25th, with the co-ope— ration of the Trades Council, ending with statements on tho Bill by roprosentatives of tht body and John Baird, M.F.. Tho discussion was uscful and revoaled the need for much closer racial unity on such common issucs as housing. Purely parliamentary rejection of the Immigration, Bill was insufficient. Young poople were prominent in the demonstration but it clear that the working class must omergo from its slumbor on this question, as on overy other issue, if the Tory offen sive 1s to be effectively blocked.
