As part of their protest against tho colour-bar imposed by the House of Fraser, 1,000 students halted traffic in tho city contro on Friday 15th December when thoy domonstrated outside tho firnts main store. Dotails of how the firm imposed a bar on coloured students working over Christmas wore givon in issue No.2 of tho Bullctin.

All Scottish Univorsitiss havo na followed Glasgow in imposing a total boycott on student labour for the Houso of Fraser. The Students' Unions took this action after oxchangos of correppondence with the Houso of Fraser which gave thom no satisfaction on tho quostion of tho employment of coloured students.

Tho Houso of Fraser has large national intorosts. It controls the large, and vory select!!, Harrods of Knightsbridge, the famous London stores, Dickins and Jones and D.H, Evans, Kondal Milne, Rackhams and J.-F. Rockney. Sir Hugh Frasor head of the ompiro is chairman of /.ssociated Fisheries which is at presont ongagod in a £4 million takeovor bid of two largo fishery firms - Hellyor Bros. of Hull amd the Kingston Stoam Trawling Co.
