At a mosting held ThUfsday 14th Decomber the Nottingham City Labour Party, which roprosents all tho constitiuencios in Nottingham and the Trade Union and Co=op affiliatos, passed by 26 votos to 11, with many abstontions, ao resolut= ion protesting against the colour-bar Bill. Tho rosolution was proposed from tho chair and was no doubt a result of the largo number of moves made by various orgonisations against the Bill. lIlowovor tho right-wing wore vory disunitod on the issue. Two out and out racialists spoko in the debate, ono boing ~ * booed into silonce. Tho right wing who opposed the resolution did so on tho grounds of it boing 'inoxpodient' and disclaimed any colour-bar foolings. Thero was the intoresting phonomena, which is almost certainly a national one, of tho vory men who were the chief spokesmen for Gaitskoll in the defence controversy now boing oxtromoly critical of the tactics of the Parliamentary Labour Party on this Bill.
The vote doos not ropresent a true picture of tho Nottingham City Labour Party. The right wing had mobilised for this mocting on another matter and many loft wingsrs havo stopped attending tho City party mooctings aftor docision after decision had been ignored by the Council Labour Party group. Tho issue which con- @m od the right-wing most was a rosvlution from North Constituoncy to the effect that aldermon should not bo appointed after roaching tho ago of 65, This hit hard at tho aging right wing caucus on the Council, most of whom druam of onding their days as aldermen freod from the necossity to fight elections. The loft could only givo conditional support to this move as it cpposes in principal the aldermanic system. However tho rosoluticn was passed by a big majority and there will now cnsue a struggle to imploment it. This will be an important fight as it brings into question the claims of 'indepoendence! of the Labour Party Council group.
Tho mooting also passed rosolutions protesting against tho Governments vongo policy. plodging support for tho Civic thoatre and for a change in the procedure of issuing noxt yoar's oclstion manifosto.

He had rocently como upon his student copy of 'Das Kapital! which he discovered he had read only to page 300. 'Now I am going to finish it.' Fidel Castro said as the audience stood to applause. FRANCE - 'La Voie Comministe' SIZED AGAIN
From France wo have recoived a letter from the Bureau of .'La Voie Communiste', journal of dissidant French Communist Party momberss
'La Voie Comministe has recoived another blow. Issue number 25 has been soized. This measure is complotely arbitrary as the points in the dossier illustrated by Sino, in tho seized issue, protosting against reprossion against Algerians, had already largely been reported throughout the pross.
It will be remembered that issue number 24 of the journal which was also soized contributed mainly to revoaling tho truth on this subject, as it was the first journal to speak of the crop of Algerian dead along the Seine.
This time we have done nothing in fact other than to complete the information already published. Wo merely dofined tho situation and attempted to give an over all picture of the repression. It is for this the Government cannot forgive us.
It is very difficult for us to faco up to the now seizure. The Government is trying by every means to smash us. We appoal to our readors, sym athisors and subscribers, in tho greatest urgency, to help us to face this situation, Tho Voie Communisto must not disappoar. We have a role to fill, help us as far as you can. We neod to restart a now fund, the old one is completely exhausted,!
