4s regrted in the pross, the Rootes strikers have again, after 13 weeks, decided to struggle on until all are reenyaged. Thoy turned down an offer by the Rootes bosses to ro-omploy 490 of the 750 on strike. The bosses proposals contained 'bait' of a phased build up over two woeks during which applicants for employment would be paid the 'guaranteed week' and compensation for thoso to be sacked. But real contont of the proposals cams out when it was realised that those sacked would include all the 'trouble makors.' I'canwhile teams of Roctes men are touring areas, ospecially Yorkshire, to oxplain their cass. Shardlows workers have donated £180, the Sheffield A)U District Coumittoe &20, armthorpo colliory workers £20 and many others from Yorks pits and factories.
