The Building Societigs Gazette reports that this 'wili be a hard Winter for the home buyer'. Because the shortage of building society funds and tho drying up of other loan sources some branchs are having four times as usual applications as a consequence of stiffer loan policies by the banks, etc. and yet a number are said to have the lowest advances quota for years, Somo branclis, even those belonging to the largest societies, aro entertaining no now apllications before January. The paper adds that figures will fall off oven more in the next few months.
